En una industria animada en continua expansión, los Annie Awards se han convertido en todo un referente de la temporada de premios y muy especialmente para la ruta rumbo al Oscar. La edición 2023 no será la excepción a la regla con títulos altamente competitivos.

En cuanto al panorama iberoamericano se refiere, hay luz con una importante presencia del bloque, tanto en títulos como en departamentos individuales. En el caso de producciones, sobresale el caso de Pinocchio, que se encuentra a la cabeza con nueve nominaciones, incluyendo Mejor película y director. También los de Ice Merchants que compite en la terna de Mejor cortometraje y Spirit Rangers en TV/Media preescolar. Si de artistas se trata, hay muchos nombres conocidos como Guillermo del Toro, Alberto Mielgo, Pablo Lobato, Jesús Alonso Iglesias, Gustavo Santaolalla y más.

Lamentablemente, también hay sombra ante la falta de representantes en la categoría de Mejor película independiente. Ausencias que se manifiestan de lleno en las distintas ternas artísticas y técnicas.
