La Academia de Artes y Ciencias Cinematográficas de los Estados Unidos ha invitado a 534 figuras de la industria cinematográfica a convertirse en miembros de la institución como parte de su generación 2025. El arte animado se hace presente con 66 talentos, 41 de los cuales apuntan a la rama de animación y 25 más a la de efectos visuales.

Los criterios de selección se basan en las cualificaciones profesionales, pero sin perder de vista elementos como la representación, la inclusión y la equidad en temas de género, nacionalidad y culturas. El objetivo, como se ha establecido desde hace tiempo es construir una Academia diversa que represente a la industria cinematográfica global.

La animación iberoamericana es representada por el director de Night of the Zoopocalypse y Koati, Rodrigo Perez-Castro; el artista con participación en How to Train Your Dragon y The Incredibles, Ricardo Delgado; el artista de VFX de The Obituary of Tunde Johnson y Don’t Breathe, Alejandro Damiani.

También hay otros nombres íntimamente relacionados con nuestras industrias como Alex Orrelle, director de Condorito junto con Eduardo Schuldt; así como Robert DeSue y Kim Keukeleire, quienes formaran parte de Pinocchio. Mención especial para Gints Zilbalodis, cineasta detrás de Flow, y quien se robó el corazón de Iberoamérica y el mundo con su historia de unión. Este último artista fue invitado a las ramas de animación y dirección.
